Phlebotomy technicians are critical team members in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and blood donor centers. As new types of tests are developed and laboratory tech positions grow, it's an especially exciting time to begin a career in this thriving field. Some tasks phlebotomy technicians may perform include:

Drawing blood from patients and blood donors

Evaluating patients' ability to withstand the procedure and helping them feel comfortable

Explaining blood-drawing procedure to patients and answering questions

Performing basic point-of-care testing, such as reading blood glucose levels
-
Preparing blood, urine and other specimens for testing

Maintaining medical equipment such as needles, test tubes and blood vials

1. Enroll either by visiting our school or using this website.
2. Upon successful enrollment, students will receive these three things;

1. Enrollment Agreement & School Policy

2. Online Component - Course Access

3. Student ID number (9 digits long)
3. Complete a CORI Check. As of May 1st, 2025 students must pay a $25 processing fee for their CORI check.
4. Phlebotomy Students have 2 online courses to complete. The 1st one is automatically sent to your email address upon enrollment via thinkific.
The next is the NHA Study Guide and practice exam for Phlebotomy Technicians. Students purchase this on the NHAnow.com website for class. [Click here to view NHA materials]
5. Complete all 4 of your Lab Days at our school.
Phlebotomy labs run from;
9:30a.m. - 3:30p.m.

6. On the fourth day of Lab, students who have been marked successful by their Instructor will receive an email to register for graduation.
7. Attend your scheduled Graduation. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
On Graduation Day all Certificates of Completion will be awarded Virtually to your email and a Physical Copy given at the school.
Physical Certificates of Completion can be mailed upon request.

Can I work while I complete this course?
Yes, you can work while taking this course. The knowledge material is delivered virtually online. You can complete it at your own schedule and pace.

Do I get to practice my skills?
During the lab days you will practice finger sticks and vein punctures on yourself, mannequins (adult & pediatric) and fellow classmates.

What is NHA?

As of August 19, 2024 Students are required to purchase & complete the NHA Online Study Guide & Practice Exam in place of purchasing a traditional text book.

Do I need to pass a state exam to work as a Phlebotomist or EKG Technician?
Our course prepares you to sit for the National Phlebotomy Exam and National EKG Technician Exam with NHA. The student pays for the National Exams.
Most companies will allow individuals to work as a Phlebotomist or EKG Technician without the exam but our students are prepared to sit for them either way.

When are the lab days?
Lab days are listed on the top of this page. Phlebotomy Seating is more limited than our other programs. Once the course is full we will remove the ability to enroll virtually from the website. You can still enroll at the school for the next session. Our Phlebotomy training program is held quarterly, so this may mean an extended wait for your practical lab days.
