Step 1: Phlebotomy Technician

Start with our hybrid Phlebotomy Technician program, with new lab sessions offered monthly.

You will learn and practice essential skills, including:

• Venipuncture and needle placement

• Butterfly collection techniques

• Finger sticks

• Infection control

• Specimen preparation and handling

• Patient communication and safety

• Basic point-of-care testing

The Phlebotomy component includes self-paced online coursework and four hands-on laboratory days at Healthcare-Edu (4 Fridays 9:30-3:30p.m.)  Click this link to view the Phlebotomy Schedule.

After successfully completing this component, you will receive your Phlebotomy Technician Certificate of Completion. You may begin applying for qualifying phlebotomy opportunities while continuing to the next level of the program.

Step 2: EKG Technician

Continue building your clinical skills with EKG Technician training.

You will learn:

• Proper EKG lead placement

• Patient preparation

• Safe operation of EKG equipment

• Basic cardiac rhythm recognition

• Accurate documentation and reporting

After successfully completing this component, you will receive your EKG Technician Certificate of Completion.

 

Step 3: Clinical Medical Assistant

Complete the final level of your training through our comprehensive Clinical Medical Assistant component.

CMA components begin quarterly, starting in January 2027.

Training includes important front-office and clinical skills such as:

• Patient intake and medical histories

• Vital signs and patient assessments

• Infection control and clinical procedures

• Medical terminology

• Electronic health records

• Medical office procedures

• Patient communication

• Preparation for work in outpatient healthcare settings

After successfully completing all program requirements, you will receive your Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I enroll at any time?

Yes. Healthcare-Edu accepts new students into the program throughout the year. All students begin with the first available Phlebotomy component before advancing to EKG and Clinical Medical Assistant training.

Does the entire CMA program begin every month?

No. Phlebotomy training is offered monthly, allowing students to start building their skills without waiting.

The Clinical Medical Assistant component begins quarterly, starting in January 2027.

 

Can I begin working after Phlebotomy?

After successfully completing the Phlebotomy component and receiving your Certificate of Completion, you may begin applying for qualifying phlebotomy positions while continuing your education. Hiring requirements vary by employer.

Will I receive three certificates?

Yes. Students who successfully complete all required components receive three Certificates of Completion:

1. Phlebotomy Technician

2. EKG Technician

3. Clinical Medical Assistant

 

Does the program prepare students for national certification examinations?

The program is designed to prepare eligible graduates for applicable National Healthcareer Association examinations. National certification examinations are separate from Healthcare-Edu’s Certificates of Completion and may require additional registration, eligibility requirements and examination fees.

 

Is the program completely online?

No. The program is hybrid. Applicable academic coursework is completed online, while laboratory and clinical skills require in-person attendance.

Can I pay weekly?

Yes. The $6,000 tuition may be paid over 24 weeks at $250 per week. Biweekly and monthly plans are also available.

​

Is there a discount for paying in full?

Yes. Students who pay the complete tuition in one payment receive a $500 discount and pay $5,500.

Can I enroll online?

The full enrollment process is completed in person every Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Healthcare-Edu. You may submit the online interest form before visiting so our team can prepare for your arrival.
